How To Reach Gokarna?

Gokarna does not have an airport but it is well connected by road to all the major cities. The nearest airport is Dabolim airport in Goa which is 140 kms away from the town. This airport is well connected to Indian as well as international cities.

New Delhi To Gokarna

By Air: There is no direct flight. You can take Spicejet flight from New Delhi to Goa and then hire a taxi from Goa to Gokarna.

By Train: Gokarna has its own rail link which is well connected with Margao. But not every train stops here. If you are coming to Gokarna via railways then the nearest railway station is located in Ankola which is about 20 kilometers away from the region. You can take a taxi or a bus to reach the final destination from outside the railway station.

By Bus: You can take a bus for Gokarna from Bangalore, Goa, Mysore and Pune.

Best Time To Visit Gokarna

October to February is the best and coolest time to visit Gokarna. The Shivratri festival in the month of February and March is a festival to watch for and also a good time to be in Gokarna.

  • ACCOMMODATIONS: You can easily find hotels and hostels to spend your night. There are many luxurious hotels providing great facilities but it costs too much. You can also find cheap rooms to stay starting from Rs 400.
  • FOOD: As it is a religious place you can find mostly Vegetarians restaurants but due to beaches you can easily get seafood. You can try some local dishes which are delicious such as UPMA, PRAWN MASALA and KINGFISH. You can eat normal thali which can cost you around Rs 100 to 200.
